In accordance with Articles 45 and 49 of the Incheon National University Academic Regulations and Articles 21, 22, and 24 of the Enforcement Rules, we hereby provide the following information regarding the application process for leave of absence and return to school for the Fall Semester of the 2025 academic year.
1. Application Period
August 1 (Fri) – August 8 (Fri), 2025
※ In unavoidable circumstances, applications may be accepted until one-third of the semester has passed (October 5, 2025, Sun).
2. Eligible Applicants
Students who wish to apply for a leave of absence or return to school
※ Important Notes
-
Students admitted in or after 2023 are not allowed to take a leave of absence during their first two semesters, except for military service, illness, or childcare.

Transfer, readmitted, and major-change students are not allowed to take a leave of absence in their first semester, except for military, illness, or childcare reasons.

First-year students admitted to departments with major assignment systems (up to 2022 entrants) cannot take a leave of absence for just one semester.
3. Application Method & Approval Procedure
Student applies via Portal → Departmental approval → Academic Affairs Team approval
※ International students must submit the application form manually through the Office of International Affairs as online application is not available.
※ It takes up to 7 days for the changes to be reflected in the academic records.
4. Academic Guidance

Return from military service must be completed within one-third of the semester. Military leave may be applied for at any time.

Applications without proper supporting documents will not be approved.

Leave/cancellation of leave must be completed within one-third of the semester. Submit the cancellation form with departmental approval to the Academic Affairs Team in person.

If a student takes a leave after two-thirds of the semester has passed, the semester will be considered completed, and grades will be assigned even without attendance or participation. In this case, a Grade Acknowledgment Form must be submitted.

Students receiving position-based scholarships must consult with the Student Support Team before applying for leave. (☎ +82-32-835-9265)

Dormitory applicants planning to return must complete return procedures before the dormitory application period.

Students wishing to take leave after paying tuition must complete tuition payment within the designated registration period and then apply for leave.
