Graduation Requirements
- Total Credits Required for Graduation:
- Students enrolled until 2019 – 135 credits required to graduate.
- Students enrolled from 2020 – 130 credits required to graduate.
General Education(LiberalArts) Requirements
Students are required to complete at least a total of 30 up to 55 credits.
Students enrolled in 2017~2018:
- Liberal Arts Compulsory Courses – 6 Credits:
- Theory and Practice of Writing – 2 credits, Academic English – 2 credits, College EnglishConversation 1 and 2 – 1 credit each.
- ※ Theory and Practice of Writing' and 'Computational Thinking and Software' will be conducted in Korean.
- ※ Regardless of the field (INU Core or Elective Liberal Arts courses) students are allowed to freely complete Elective courses within the boundsof liberal arts credits.
Students enrolled from 2019~2022:
- Liberal Arts Compulsory Courses – 8 Credits:
- Theory and Practice of Writing – 2 credits, Computational Thinking and SW – 2 credits, AcademicEnglish – 2 credits, College English Conversation 1 and 2 – 1 credit each.

Students enrolled from 2023~:
- Liberal Arts Compulsory Courses – 8 Credit(Restricted to TOPIK Level 5 and above)
- Theory and Practice of Writing – 2 credits, Computational Thinking and SW – 2 credits, AcademicEnglish – 2 credits, College English Conversation 1 and 2 – 1 credit each.
- Completion of IPA subjects(※NOTICE For those with TOPIK Level 3 or 4 and higher)
IPA course completion and course registration information
- IPA (Intensive Programs for Adjustment) subjects: ‘Academic Korean Writing 1, 2’, ‘Korean Presentation and Discussion1,2‘,‘Redaing Korean Culture 1, 2’, ‘Korean Life and Study’
- Among students admitted in the 2023 school year, students with elementary or intermediate Korean language proficiency (TOPIK level 3 or 4) must complete IPA subjects, and students with advanced Korean language proficiency (TOPIK level 5 or higher) must take the same basic liberal arts subjects as Korean students and '‘Korean Life and Study’'.
- Beginning with freshmen in the 2023 school year, those eligible to complete IPA courses will automatically be enrolled.
- If you are a freshman in the English track, you must register for classes directly after receiving academic guidance from the department office. If you cannot complete the course as a freshman, you must complete it before graduation, so keep this in mind.
- Students with beginner/intermediate Korean language proficiency (TOPIK level 3/4) must voluntarily register for ‘Computational Thinking and SW’ in addition to IPA during the semester offered by the department office.
- Students with advanced Korean language skills (TOPIK level 5 or higher) voluntarily take the basic liberal arts subjects 'Theory and Practice of Writing', 'Academic English', and 'Computational Thinking and SW' in the semester offered by the department office, just like domestic students.
- This only applies to students who entered from the 2023 school year. New (transfer) students before 2022 must complete the course with the existing liberal arts, and cannot take new or retake IPA courses.
- Core Courses - Completion of 3 subjects regardless of the completion area

Major Subjects Requirements
Students enrolled from 2017~2019:
- Completion of 60 major credits or more, including basic and compulsory major courses.
Students enrolled from 2020~2023:
- Completion of at least 60 credits in major courses.
- Previous requirement: At least 9 credits each in the areas of Korean Language, Economics & Statistics, and Korean Economy.
- Revised requirement: The area-specific requirements are abolished → Graduation requirement is met upon completion of a total of 60 major credits.
Students enrolled from 2024 onward:
- Completion of at least 60 credits in major courses (same as before).
- A new set of area-specific requirements will apply:

Graduation Requirements (Thesis / Examination)
Notice on Changes to Graduation Requirements (Starting with Students Graduating in February 2028)
Starting with students graduating in February 2028, the graduation requirement for the IBE major will change from submitting a graduation thesis to passing a graduation examination.
Students Subject to the Graduation Exam and Start Timing
- Students admitted to the IBE major in Spring 2024 and afterward will be subject to the graduation examination requirement.
- The first graduation examination will be conducted in the Fall semester of 2027.
Exceptions
- Students admitted to the Korean Trade and Commerce major may continue to submit a graduation thesis even after the new graduation examination system is implemented.
- In addition, IBE students who wish to submit a graduation thesis (e.g., for graduate school applications) will be permitted to do so.
- IBE students who plan to graduate early (by August 2027) must submit a graduation thesis.

Early Graduation
- Eligibility: Students who have earned an average G.P.A. of 4.0 or better until the 4th semester
- Application period : Within a certain period before fifth-semester starts.
- How to apply: Complete the application form and visit the department office of your major.
Submit it to the Office of Educational Support. - Requirements: Students must fulfill the requirements for graduation and earn a G.P.A. of 4.0 or better.
